It Was a Dark and Stormy Night...

Boy it sure was! We could see the clouds gathering for a couple hours so we knew a storm was on the way. We have been having a lot of them this summer!! (You ca also tell by when all the animals go quiet!) But it was still a surprise to see the fury of the storm.

First: The satellite went out

Second: Hail the size of marbles started to fall

Lastly: It started to rain. We had a flash flood in the driveway and within 5 minutes the fountain was half full. I have never seen a downpour like that. Plus all the thunder and lightning. It was a pretty intense storm while it lasted. The rain went away after about 1/2 hour, but we had intermittent thunder and lightning all evening. I wish I would have gotten a picture of the hail, but I wastoo fascinated to even thing about going and grabbing my camera. However, there are more clouds in the sky tonight, so we'll see what happens.

Also, tonight was the awards BBQ for Junior Golf. We are sooo proud of John. He did a great job his first year. So he will be moving up and will have to hit from all the way back at the Ladies tee's. He has had such a great time, and we are glad that he has found something that he really enjoys doing. And believe it or not, we did not push him into golf, he asked to do it!
