Tuesday we arrived in Mykonos (MEE-ko-nose), where we took a boat over to the island of Delos (Thee-los) Delos is famous for being the birthplace of Artemis and Apollo and at one time was a thriving city. Now is is just an archaeological site. Because it was a sacred site, no one was allowed to give birth or die on the island, so if you were going to do one of those things you were moved to another island not far away. (Athough, how you could stop someone from having a heart attack or stroke and just dropping dead I'm not sure). There is not and never was any agriculture on Delos, everything was brought in from the outside and it was a major port for merchants.

They do have a museum on the island to showcase all the finds, but we all agreed that the coolest ones are still there, like the floors that we saw in some of the houses.

Can you belive that after a thousand years it still exists in a nearly perfect state? Incredible! That is a mosaic that would have been on the floor of one of the wealthy citizens.

After exploring to island we traveled back to Mykonos where we went shopping and had some lunch. Mykonos is a very cute little town with quaint alley's twisting and turning every which way. It was lots of fun to get lost in the back streets. We knew we couldn't get lost, we were on an island and could just head for the water!

All the little shops were amazing. We visited a rug shop where after her purchase Donna had to get a picture with the cute Greek businessman.

Jenny finally had some new clothes to wear!
